Can I also pose another question - knowing now what we do about Ali's time at Racing shouldn't we as fans be petitioning Terry and whoever else we can including the media saying that we don't want this guy anywhere near our club?

Everything he touches seems to turn to sh*t, why are we prepared to accept his involvement?

Hold on. Let's be clear that Racing's problems have nothing to do with Ahsan Ali Syed. In fact, he has paid off some of their debts. The specific issue seems to be that he has not followed through yet on some other commitments he has made. Maybe he will, maybe he won't but regardless, they are actually better off for his involvement (unless you are determined to run another disingenuous argument about how if only he hadn't got involved then some other much cooler white knight would have jumped in and saved them by now).

I agree that I wouldn't want this guy actually owning the Phoenix (he does seem like a douchebag) but Terry has never said that will be the case. If Terry can "con" some money out of this guy by way of sponsorship or investment then great. As long as we see the money that would seem like some sort of karma.

At the end of the day I still don't really believe that anything will come of the WGA thing and it will turn out to have been nothing more than an amusing sideshow. In the meantime Terry will somehow manage to keep his head just above water (at least as far as the Phoenix is concerned) and we will carry on. Just don't be expecting any big-money marquee signings for next season.
