But JD has an agenda. He's said it plainly - his agenda is to try to raise this forum, and Nix fandom in general, up against Terry in the hope he'll take the hint and sell out. Or did I just imagine that bit?

My agenda is skepticism. Just because journos with an agenda heavily imply something does not make it the truth. Nipples and Burgess are surely not lying, but the fact that - as JD puts it - "everyone" now believes that Terry is going out of business any day now just shows the power of the partisan press.

Let me make this clear - I don't believe that Terry's finances are rosy. I accept that he's been in serious trouble. and may still be. What I believe is that the chances that he is going belly-up any time soon are far, far smaller than the chances of finding a White Knight to take over the Nix any time soon. Better an owner drastically searching for cash than no owner at all, which is the only realistic alternative. If you want to chew out people for living in fantasy worlds, talk to all these clowns who are convinced that any amount of moneymen are just aching to throw $1 million a year at our favourite football team.

But if - for example - Colin Giltrap put his hand up and made a takeover bid, I wouldn't write it off. I am loyal to Terry only in the lack of a realistic alternative.
