A decision has been made. Terry will lose control of the club within 10 days.
From the book of St Doloras the Grumpy, 3:16: Be careful what you wish for, because the Gods will certainly grant it to you, and then laugh at your dumb ass if it goes wrong.
Would it be possible - given the consensus from the FFA, NZF and Gareth Morgan that Terry is still to be regarded as a hero - for Terry to be kept on in management even if he's bought out? He has certainly run the club well, despite his crashing and burning in the rest of his wheelings and dealings. I have zero faith in the ability of Rob Morrison, Gareth Morgan or whoever is too chickensh1t to release their name to run a football club, no matter how many $$$ they throw at it. As HN keeps reminding us: Brian Katzen.
The way I see it is that regardess of who takes over the club, Terry will be regarded by all as a hero for starting the club. How well he will be seen at his managing of his leaving is yet to be determined, but the first part will never be taken away from him.
Terry being on any board is very nice wishful thinking, but new management generally like to sweep out and impose their own identity. They might ask those effective in the day to day running of the club to stay on, eg Nathan and Ricki, and a few more behind the scenes, and being this close to the season's start, I expect they will, but dont expect the new owners to be inviting him to continue on in any role. I imagine Nathan would jump at the chance of a secure future and same with Ricki.
I doubt that there will be a sale. It looks like if Terry cant come up with the 2M to satisfy FFA then they will relieve him of his licence and pass it on.
I'm not sure why there is such a concern about the names of the five not being public yet. I cant see that that makes any difference. It is weird that you call them "chickensh*t." They are about to put 2M up, and guarantee quite a few more, how un-chickensh*t is that !!
And as to having zero faith in their ability to manage a club, how much did Terry have on day 1 ??? They have management experience and money, and the club has a proven infrastructure and solid fan base, and a fairly good team that has proven it is competitive at this level. Way different to the Kingz situation, they are miles ahead.
Think you have got it way out of perspective there Doloras.
