I agree that they shouldn't fund it, but let's not get carried away with the media picture that everything NZ football does comes out of the pockets of wide eyed 5 year olds and their parents.
 
While I guess JD is asking the question (for debate), the article clearly states that NZF won't put $$ into the Nix.  However as with most relationships there must be other ways of supporting the club (in-kind stuff)?  That can be just as helpful as cold hard cash.
 
let them use their offices in Akld? oh hang on..
Akld offices and free train passes for all the players, complemenatry VW cars.  As examples.
