Meanwhile, a spokesman for Phoenix supporters group Yellow Fever, Wellington lawyer Guy Smith, said fans were simply frustrated by the uncertainty.

Yellow Fever's online forums contained a "a million different opinions" but as Serepisos' financial woes deepened, support for new owners had grown.
"The longer it's gone on, the more frustrated people have got and the more they are looking for some alternative."
