From the SMH - does anyone have any idea what this actually is getting at?  I really don't understand the implication

In the end Terry Serepisos couldn't find the money to keep hold of his beloved Wellington Phoenix, but right at the death he thought he had pulled it off. The night before the FFA took the license off him, he thought he had a $100 million loan sorted. So confident was he, he showed the details on his laptop to some of his senior players. What caught their eye was the $35 transfer fee which accompanied the ''loan''. We hope that wasn't the deal-breaker. Four days later Serepisos was declared bankrupt and the A-League lost its best club owner.
