I have to admit, this is a pretty powerful demotivator for me as well.

Football teams aren't just an "entertainment product" that you can move around to "serve" to "new markets" and anyone who treats them as such may quickly find that their 6,000 genuine fans will drift away from them.

WOW One of the most telling posts i have seen in any of the threads on this subject.

Have to admit i feel the same way while i havnt spent anywhere near the money Welnix has.Since the Phoenix started i have spent thousands in season passes, merchandise, travelling to away games, number plate and the neccasary lubricant to oil a conservative Kiwis pipes.Plus turning down heaps of work so i can attend said games.I have not missed a home game at the stadium since we started and have defended them from all the negative comments from family, friends and others who are aware im a Phoenix tragic.

Congratulations Welnix you have succeded where others have failed in making me reconsider where i spend my entertainment dollars.

Maybe you should take a look at how the AFL are going to market their Anzac Day game at the stadium. They have openly said they want a team in Wellington and i for one would love that to happen.

i am with you on this ballane i too have not spent as much as welnix but have spent thousands on merch and petrol to get to wellington, i have missed 2 games at the stadium since season one. i do not even live in wellington and i am against this move by the owners. i realise they need to make money but home is where the heart is, two home games a season away is plenty for me
