 The 20,000 at chch, auckland ect are simply cos it's one game a season, not two or three.

I also keep hearing about the 15K at Dunedin, this was only because it was the FIRST major event at the new stadium (I'd be keen to find out how many people actually paid for their tickets, rather than receiving comps from the council). The A-League game played a few months later got a crowd of 4628, but the press never mention this.
I spend thousands of dollars each year taking my family to games all over the country & in Australia. Each away "home" game' it usually costs well over $1000, if they take more games away from Wellington, am I going to spend another 2-4K watching home games? Am I f**k, I will go & watch another game in Aus, as it will be cheaper.
We are the WELLINGTON Phoenix, that is what Wel(lington)(Phoe)nix bought into, & if they expect to make a profit after 1 year, they have their heads up their arses.
 May be they should have read this before commiting;

My favourite line is on page 361;
"the best way to make a small fortune is to have a large fortune & buy a sports franchise"
I am a PASSIONATE Phoenix fan, but this whole approach by Welnix has started to take the edge off. Where is your loyalty to the faithful? don't victimize them, & dont expect the Fever Zone to be a major draw card (although it will be worth the admission price to watch us on the 22nd!). People like Patrick, News , 2nd Best, Smithy, El Grap, Chelski Liz etc (possibly Feverish ?, although I doubt it!) do a shark load of promotion for the club in their "spare time", & they are a damn sight more effective than the marketing department we currently have.
Welnix need to target a wider demographic than they currently do, they also need to leave tactical decisions to the coaching staff, they need to spend some money on a Marquee player in the January transfer window,  Gareth needs to come into The Pub & come back into the FZ  (& he needs to have a shave, it's not f**king MOvember anymore)

Rant over...........................................................................................................................Pinot Gris finished!

So come on the fever sing,

we know we're gonna win.

Yellow Fever will sing, when we're at home

This is our home, we want to stay h-o-o-ome.

We're the WELLINGTON Phoenix,

Listen, David Dome,
