I would like to start with recognising what  Ricki achieved over the years with both, NZ All Whites and the Phoenix.

On the other hand the game in the Hyundai A league since the season 1 has evolved significantly, so, in my modest view,  for the Phoenix to progress as a club, there are several things that the owners could do:

1) Recognise the fact that the style of football currently played is not attractive and will not bring new spectators to the games (not even keep the existing fans), therefore not financially viable.

2) Recognise that the style of football has been determined by the coach.

3) The current squad of players are incapable to deliver ball possession/fast paced style of football. Remembering that the couch signed all of these players keeping him in "director of football' type of role he would still have influence on which players will be signed in the future. He could probably stay in "advisory" type of role without having any decision making power.

4) Write-off this season and start planing for the next.

5) Include and develop more young players from ASB .

6) Create and run regular camps of excellence in minimum three major cities
