For god sake we resorted to our oldstyle of football in that game. Back to longball and crosses. The players said they wanted to go back to winning ugly. They got half way there. Now they are losing ugly.

thery resorted to some long ball direct stuff sure, but that was only after they were three nl down after trying to play a passing, posession game. I'm not placing the blame solely on Gareth I'm just asking if he had defence in his total football game plan.
Sorry but that is not correct....my son was counting long balls from kickoff(he is a bit of a train spotter) over 20 balls in the air in the first seven minutes....we came out and longballed it....it was the Nix of old.
Defense is a fundamental part of football....goes without saying. Does not matter what style of football you are playing. Blaming owners for defenders not marking in the box or rushing out of the line or not tracking is incorrect. Where the blame lies is with the coach who watches the same faults happening every week and appears to not know how to fix them.
