I suspect this talk of downsizing to Newtown Park is merely a negotiating ploy by Welnix to get a reduced charge for using Westpac stadium. Otherwise it does seem like a Kingz-style slippery slope to oblivion.
My best guess is the Phoenix will become more of a travelling circus next season with half the home games outside Wellington. Absense might make the heart grow fonder.
