JV is right on 18 incl Rufer
but certainly looks as if Sherminator is likely and provides that cover. That also suggests the budget left after Carlos and Kenny is needed for the DM, so FB cover has to be a cheaper option. Like Ernie says, it's just a matter of scoring more than we leak. Reckon our CBs could have a busy season covering FBs.

Returning Captain Andrew Durante is joined by

Agree. It seems they have kept their eggs in the basket to buy the DM they need hence the young 'cheap' signings. I doubt that Caira, Adams and Rufer are going to cost more than the minimum. I have no problem with that and I guess you have to get the best you can for that minimum and it would appear they have on face value. Sherman would be another minimum I guess keeping the cap space for the DM.
I'm not sure I agree with the Ernie's face value philosophy of trying to outgun the opposition because title winners (and title games) can defend and score. It's like we have decided we are going to smash 400 off 50 overs every game and daring opponents to chase us. It's a risk and reward concept but then you need the horses to achieve that. We have Brockie and his record is freakish goals.. After that..
Ernie hasn't promised to win the title this season, just to make finals
He can't avoid a few weaknesses, but if the kids do develop and the key signings come off strongly, we could over-achieve
