For the person that said the A-league is not a very high standard..
I reckon that Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory would be competitive if they were in the Championship. They would probably be in the bottom half of the table, yet still competitive. The standard of the A-league is probably higher than most professional leagues in the world. It's definitely not a bad league in terms of quality of football and support. (Note that there are many professional leagues in the world).
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I read somewhere that the A-league is in the top 20 most supported leagues in the world. In terms of crowd attendance I think.
I'd rate the A-League above the Scottish Premier League (at least everyone bar Celtic) but below the Championship
Paul Ifill recently stated on Twitter that he thought there was no point in anyone moving from the A-League to the Championship anymore i.e. that there's no significant difference in standard.
Paul Ifill is better looking and cooler than just about anyone on this forum so I agree with him.
