Brisbane paper is calling John McKain as signing for the Phoenix (see front page news) and Gold Coast 'talking' to Karl Dodd.

I have not heard of John McKain, but Wikipedia (you have to search for Jonathan McKain, otherwise it will automatically direct you to the page for US presidential candidate John McCain) says:

Jonathan ("Jon") McKain (born September 21, 1982) is an Australian football (soccer) player, who currently plays for FCU Politehnica Timişoara in Romania's Liga 1. He is generally a defender but can also play in midfield.

He joined FC Politehnica in the summer of 2005, from fellow Divizia A side FC Naţional Bucureşti. He has also played for the Brisbane Strikers in Australia.

He has represented Australia and made three appearances at the 2005 Confederations Cup in Germany. He also represented Australia at the 2004 Olympics.

He also has 12 Australian caps, with the last one coming in 2006.
