I would be happy with Joel Porter...as long as he is fit. Remember Smeltzy was playing in England at a similar level and didn't really set the world on fire. Then we got him back to the Phoenix and he was one of the best strikers in the A-League last season.

Get Porter over here early. Give him a good preseason buildup and he'll fire up. Remember its a hell of a motivation playing infront of 12,000 in the ROF. Compare that to playing on some cold wet mudheap in Hartepool, in front of the groundsman and his dog.

I think we have to be realistic. We would all love to have a bigname striker sign for the Phoenix. But you are talking millions of $$$. John Aloisi has just gone to Sydney for over $1 million AUD and he is a player that wouldn't get a look in the EPL. Also he's not the sort of player to win matches single handedly.    what do we know about Robbie Elliot????????
