Sure you can worry about Gao's past injury's and playing level standards, but this is not a
hick league and i'm sure management has done their research. All your talk about burying heads in the sand is just insolence, but thats just my opinion.
Like Feverish, I too would like to know who "all these kiwis" are you've talked too who have played in the Finn Prem and NSL. Their opinions would be interesting.
But like I said , its done, try and be positve.
Don't worry about the bad that might happen, your not in a position to do anything about it, just think of the good that could happen and enjoy it when it does. 
I think hes going to be great and sooooooooo looking forward to first game kick off.
