Bollocks.  Last year we weren't off the pace in goals for, we got hammered in the Goals against column.  We've overhauled the defence, Costa and Drapes are a year older, no reason at all the current squad won't be more competitive.

We'll get a couple of decent strikers anyway.

Totally agree. There seems to a feeling that if we don't sign a "gun" striker then we are doomed for this season.Well we scored bucket loads of goals last year......25 in all, the same number as the Jets, and they won the competition. Its the defence that let us down.

We have the same attacking guys this season as did the business  last year. Plus we have added Gao, who looks a great prospect on the left and Bertos who has topped the A-League for assists. In addition Daniel looks extra sharp and fully fit and we have another attacking midfielder in Hearfield who is Aussie rep(u23) plus Costa.

I don't think scoring goals will be a problem....provided Smeltz stays fit and in form. At the very least we need a backup, someone who can do as good a job. I am sure that Tony and Rickie are very well aware of whats needed and are working on it big time. Getting it 100% right is better than rushing in and ending up with duds.
