Sure, Covs did some good work last season, but you wouldn't want to rely on him to score much this year is all I'm saying, he's a year older as well remember! If Smeltz got injured you want somebody young who can last the 90 minutes and give you a constant goal threat.
I'd say Kwasnik probably offers a little bit more in that respect than Covs, and Costa doesn't have the experience yet, although who knows, he could be fantastic for us. It's just that I wouldn't want to start the season with just those two as the only alternatives.

I'd agree KTBW we do need 'injury' cover for smeltzy,
was just keen to note that whilst you do need finishers in a side, the frontline can accomodate someone who makes things happen for others (eg Covs/Heskey) - particularly if we had two up front
Bopman - not sure how Hearfiled would go as a lone striker, but i seem to recall he can do a job up front alongside a target man
yeah i wasn't sure about him but i thought he was missing from a lot of the discussion regards strike partners for smeltzy
