Well Dadi would have more to offer than say Mulligan, and could be a decent player to have in the squad, a good target man, and even if he is a third or fourth striker, would still definitely have something too offer.
At the moment we have no genuine strikers for next year I believe. Shouldn't we increase that to at least one?
Sorry buddy but the comparison doesn't hold. It's like saying that you don't like your dessert when you haven't even had your first course of the meal.
And as for having Dadi as 3rd or 4th striker, I'm not against that. But I wanna see us signing 2 decent strikers before, i.e. Porter + 1. After that has been done, bring on Bosnich, Dadi, Coveny's dad and whoever you like!
The comparison definitely holds. It is about the focus of our squad. Our striking options this year- Kwasnik, Hearfield, Smeltz. Iffy. Sure we were expecting more from Bertos, Gao and Daniel (Brown having delivered a bit) but they are not picked to be strikers.
Why should we have 4-5 players covering a spot at right back ie Mulligan, Christie, Lia, Muscat, Siggie and possibly Hearfield...but not attempt to take a punt on a striker when we can. He's already scored more than Covs in total. So he's a comparatively proven striker.
Surely we can attempt to sign him, as well as looking for other strikers? Or are we tied into contracts that are going to bite us next year?
Should we wait until he has another contract and then look at him as an option? Or wait until Porter doesn't sign for us and then think about it?
