I think things have got a bit out of context here.
I believe the earlier comment in this thread was about how good the noise and atmosphere was at Eden Park.Not a criticism of supporters at the cake tin.
No 1 for creating atmosphere is to actually turn up and support your team whether you want to be vocal or not.
I wasn't at Eden Park but from my observation, the way they grouped all the supporters in one area of the stands created its own atmosphere. This seems to work well at that venue.
Not sure this can be done the same way at the cake tin due to it being an oval cricket ground..
