It's the end of Jan. There's some chance based on experiences overseas, that the Omicron wave could have well peaked in 2 months (end of March), and some restrictions including travel then being eased.

If the Omicron situation is no worse in Australia than NZ at that stage, could the Nix return to Welly and host some games to end the season? Longshot maybe, but not an impossibility. That's provided of course that spectators are allowed back into stadiums at that point.

Admittedly being overseas I'm a bit out of touch with the day to day news on what the Govt maybe planning, but expect it's still very much wait & see at this early stage.
