Players in Europe play two games a week all the time but players here need a 6 week ramp up to play one game a week? Give me a break. Too much reverance is given to sports/fitness scientist types who will always err on the side of caution, and again, I will repeat myself here, this approach doesnt even seem to be effective because we have been decimated by injuries over the past two seasons anyway.

Edit: of course the above doesn't apply to players returning from injury, or players at the very start of preseason. I am talking about players who are not injured, who havent been overloaded by too many recent games, who have been training regularly. It shouldn't be crazy to expect such a player to manage 60+ minutes of football
Give me a break dude. There are very few players in the world that can play two full games per week, week in week out.

Also how do you think they got to that point in the first place? It sure as hell wasn't by the coach just chucking them straight into the team and seeing how they go.

Coaches in Europe manage load to the point of planning out minutes of game time months in advance. They know if they dont do this they may not be able to play their best players at the end of the season for all the most important matches i.e. final match weeks of the Prem, FA cup, Champions league etc etc
