I'm 53 and have taken guardianship and parenting control over two of my grandchildren. I can't really afford to but we happily did so because we have saved their lives not just literally.  My wife and i struggle, but it is worth it. If we didn't do this, we'd most like be two grandchildren deceased and that is not an exaggeration and i know that neither of us could have lived on with that on our conscience. 

Sometimes,  life throws up hard as challenges, the rewards can be fantastic. Such as watching a little boy and his sister getting a chance in life in a safe environment and not in CYFS care.
