IMO you ar better to get someone like Killen who would fit into the team culture immediately...he would be a "lower risk" recruit. Also when you look at Smith...he is not a super star but he adds considerably to the team effort....he's here, he's playing OK and we know what we are getting. Again a low risk recruit.
I guess it all depends on what style of football Rickie is trying to play. You are better off doing what THe Roar and CCM do and that is recruit good players that will compliment your football style than splash the cash and take a gamble on a high profile " quality" player who may turn out to be a dud.
IMO opinion we have got our best recruits.....Ifill and Greenie when Rickie actually went to Europe and did a thorough job on sussing out players. Maybe he can tack on some Nix recruiting when he is in the UK for the Olympics.
Unfortunately I don't see Smith making the cut....Smith> Warner
