Great story. I saw Singh first at Petone Memorial about 3 years for Wellington United v Petone in a Central League game. It was clear to anyone watching that he had a gifted talent. I then saw him play in a Phoenix pre season warm up game at Faser Park and he was the best player on the pitch. In fact Guy Smith commented the same on one of these forums.

The only thing that surprised me was that they took so long to play him and then when he was given 20 minutes against Sydney last year he made an immediate impact with Piney saying  that he was pulling all the strings after 5 minutes on the park. The next week the clown coach we had  dropped him from the squad.

Yeah we're so lucky to have him right now, NZ's got some great youth talent coming through and Singh's the pick of the bunch. Anyone who was into youth football at the time could tell he was/is something special; had a mate in Wellington who played against him once and got completely skinned all game. Told me in 2016 that he was more promising than Rogerson, which took me by surprise a bit.

First time I stood up and took notice was the Reserves game against Hawke's Bay at the Cake Tin (I think?) last season, Man if I could find highlights of that game. Made grown men look like toddlers, scored a great solo goal from outside the box and I think grabbed an assist or two as well. Made me think, "he's our future".
