Not trying to take away from Wellington fans frustration (pretty shark thing to do imo) but I wish they would stop holding events at QBE stadium in Auckland.

Not only is it a lifeless shark venue, but the transport links are appalling and pubs close by are full of Twits

I have to be honest I used to think like that, but see this:

this is from the last game at QBE.

This guy brought his very wee new born to the game. He deserved a free 4-3-3!

The new double decker buses from town are good, quick and comfy. The pub in the front of the mall was quite decent. The 4-3-3 is top notch.

There were a lot of new fans (see above!) and there was a good mood- helped by Kosta, FInkler and am I remembering correctly- Smeltzy?!?

There was a bus load of high school footballers from Northland came down and Patrick lead them in chants.

It was a good chance to spread the Phoenix love.

It's a crap thing for the club to do to Wellington fans, but I hope it goes as well as my memory of the last one!

Glad to hear you had a pleasant experience last time out. It's always a pleasure to see/meet new fans.

What I'm getting at is that all of the above would've been possible at Eden park - adding that historically it has had a higher turnout than QBE. This is due to the facilities and more importantly easy transport links. There are several decent pubs, restaurants, etc within close walking distance and of you're real broke it's about 30mins-1hr walk from the CBD (which also has loads of accommodation for travelling fans).
