I think it will be in the 7-9k range.. if I think back to the best crowds at Eden Park, 2019’s 1-1 draw against the victory because there was lots of hype around Honda as well as we were high flying I think in the top 3 of the table.. People knew that the game was going on and word got around through the local clubs and that got people to go. That being said this year nor last year has this game got through the local clubs with the amount of young football players that don’t know the game is on we will struggle to pull a crowd.. if the Phoenix sent something to the clubs like a discounted general admission zones and word got around the game was on the people are easily there to get 15k to the ground. Defenitely tonight’s game against the victory if we win we will go in flying and that will pull a couple additional thousand too.. all being said now unless all goes perfectly don’t think it will be anything above the 9-10k mark. Also mt smart is worse for location and that will defenitely draw some people away. If the Auckland team wants to pull regular crowds the connection with the local clubs must be there but at the end of the day it will be based on results and if Auckland signs any big names ..coochiee
Be interesting to see how the Nov 25th double header crowd at Mt Smart compares to those the Nix have got at Eden Park the last few seasons. I'm sure Bill Foley's group will be watching closely.
I still think EP is a better ground to be the principal stadium for most, of the new Auckland team's home games.
