Sorry dude I was just trying to be funny. I personally think that Kraev hasn't gone out of his way to make it sound like he is super keen to stay, or in talks to stay, though to be fair he hasn't been asked directly about it. I still think it is going to be surmanYoungHeartHM

Flawless logic. There isn't any other professional teams in NZ currently signing players for next season is there? YoungHeartHM

The Wellington Phoenix will make a men's player contract announcement at 10am tomorrow.@newstalkzbsport
Who are we thinking... has to be either Kosta or Kraev. I don't think they'd be looking to renew Zawada just yet, wait and see what interest there is for him and how he recovers as well. Pennington, Duncan and Salas are the others off-contract this season
Surely Kraev.
What do I base that off? Purely because he said on McOnie's piece the other day that he'll be staying in New Zealand for the birth of his boy.
If he was unsure of where he stood regarding contract status then he wouldn't have sounded so at peace when he did that interview.
Notice that the thread title includes the word 'speculation'.
I'd suggest looking it up.
Or even better, have a go at some yourself. 👍
No worries.
If you listen to him speak, it all sounds the same to be honest. Could be because English isn't his first language (confidence?) but his tone or expression doesn't really change from exchange to exchange does it? At least not from what I've heard.
Seems like a stand up bloke though. Who knows, maybe he just wants to be part of the Phoenix father's club with Bally, Kosta and Zawada (I feel like I'm missing someone else off that list...)
I still think it will be Kraev, for the same reasons I have posted above. Who knows, maybe the Phoenix even sanctioned that interview as a bit of a teaser for a contract renewal? Although I'm probably jumping down a bit of a wormhole on that call. 😅
Wootton has kids. So does Salas (though may not be in NZ, given he's only here on loan). Pennington's partner has a bun in oven.
Someone once alluded to Rufer having a family??
