I liked Wooten but his sideways passing for too often was frustrating, then it was usually the long ball straight to their goalkeeper or defence. It may well have been the tactics or lack of midefield to offer him an option but Rufer when playing was always dropping back offering him and option. And yes, he did backwards pass a lot, especially to Paulsen.  This game last Sunday, despite being pre season he looked a little slower, slow to turn. Even though through experience he read the game to position himself. His danger at corners was still there to see though. I wish Scott well, but now is the time for our current defenders to step up and be counted. I saw 3 errors on Sunday night but they got away with 2 or them and the 3rd got Perth their goal.

Agreed on the "three errors" and the fact they got away with two and only one goal against, was that Perth genuinely only had Taggart as a serious threat, and that was late.
it would be a different story against WSW let alone Victory. so our proposed central defence / midfield for this season may need another look.
One more Aussie/kiwi experienced CB to come, plus Rufer.  Payne and Armiento if a back four.

Plus a bit of steady time together for a consistent starting grouping.

I'm definitely keeping my rose tinteds on and hankering for that visa attacking mid  :)
