I did wonder if similar reasoning was behind Liam Gillion making less appearances for Auckland FC as the season went on. That if he played too much more, his scholarship contract would have to be upgraded.
I'd put that down to Gillion's own profligacy rather than any appearance target he had to hit to upgrade his contract.
Inasmuch as Liam Gillion has a lot of skills to offer, accuracy is not among them. Even putting the word "target" anywhere near his name in one sentence is already a bit ambitious.
