leaving for a team in the same league for a comparable contract is not loyalty, its as mercenary as it gets. Newcastle is not a great adventure. He has the rest of his life to fish.

the Jets arent massive spenders, they surely cant outbid us by that much. Welnix should be able to match it for a massive captain figure like Rufer

If the money is good why wouldn't he go to Newcastle.

They are having a great season, Milligan seems a top coach, and maybe Roofs has just starting to find the scene at the Nix a bit stale after well over 10 years at the same employer.
Maybe he just wants to try something different from the Phoenix it cant be denied he has been loyal. Also for someone who loves fishing Newcastle isnt a bad place to be based and it and its surroundings are a good place to be.
What utter rubbish his contract is finished he is entitled to go anywhere he wants dosnt mean he is in any way showing any disloyalty. If you dont think footballers take into account the environment they are moving into that them and their families can be a part of your seriously mistaken. Also you and i have NO idea what he may have been offered so why try and pretend it could be the same.
if he was disloyal, he would have tried to split at the end of last season, there is no loyalty in a league where most players are on two year deals past the age of 25.
