I don't really think that Wooton is that great for a import slot. Really could've recruited better there.
I need a laughing emoji to respond to this. He is week in week out one of our better players. Defence isnt a one man game, there are 5 at the back that need to work together - unfortunately it's not happening. This starts with the keeper, who should not be captaining the side.
There is nothing wrong with him as an A League standard defender but it's a classic sign of a malfunctioning defence when a player is dividing his attention too much between what's in front of him and what's behind him. 



for me it's not Wootton, it's Payne. When he was playing out wide his frailties weren't as exposed, but in the centre he seems lost. sittting too deep, keeping players onside and not keeping with the line. Laws dd way better. Wootton is constantly covering for Payne. Neither is really tall for a CB, which Laws offers a bit more of which helps with defensive headers.
