It is so hard to get past the terrible ending and result.
It is hard to remember that we absolutely dominated the first hour, played nice football, created chances and scored twice. It wasn't all bad.

And Zawada got off the mark. So far not the goal machine import striker we need alongside Waine, Kosta or Ball, but he's had some nice touches and used his strength well against defenders, which yesterday helped earn us that penalty.
I was pretty annoyed Zawada didn't take the penalty, think him or Kraev should be put on penalty duty instead of Kosta for future games.
Zawada has never been a goal-scoring machine. If I could look up his published scoring stats, I am sure The Nix scouts did as well.
There must have been many reasons Uffie thought Zawada would be a useful pickup, but being a "goal-scoring machine" could not be the reason. He is less dominant than Kraev, but has decent ball skills and gets into the right places. However, I see nothing in his stats that would make him a better penalty taker than Kosta.
It takes a particular personality and skill to be a good penalty taker. As an example Roy Krishna or David Ball are not great pen takers despite being great skillful players. And who would have known that the great AUS player Mile Jedinak converted each of his 14 kicks at international level?
