If all those 5 guys go away the squad will be looking very thin especially on the bench. But i'd have faith this 11 could win games.
Would be interesting to see if Ball could play CM.

Perhaps you could move Laws into CM and put Surman at the back with Wootton?

Or maybe we’ll see something funky and Danny calls up Alex for the first 2 AWS games then swaps him out for Clayton for the last few (or vice versa)? Because yes take them both out and the Nix are very short in CM.

It’s funny a couple weeks ago it almost wouldn’t have been too much of an issue seeing where we were on the table. Bit different now!

Yipe I'd say there is more chance of Laws moving forward than Ball deeper.
Surman done well to date, and would have the very experienced Wootton beside him.

But yeah idea that Talay agrees to release Lewis & Rufer separately over the tournament, is a pretty fair arrangement, since he's already likely doing Hay some big favours releasing 3-5 guys outside the window dates.

Think there is zero chance FFA will postpone any Nix matches. ALM already behind with it's schedule due to Covid, kills that prospect. Not scheduling any new midweek games during the tourney, is likely as good as it will get.

Soccerway now shows an additional Nix game around tourney dates. Jets on 18th March. So 4 matches now that in worse case Nix national team players could miss.

12th March Roar (A)
18th March Jets (A)
25th March Glory (H)
1st April Melb City (A) - Socceroos play in Saudi 28th March, so City could be missing some of MacLaren, Metcalfe, Tilio & Leckie (all in last Socceroos squad)
