also apparently 11% of jobs in Wellington have been lost, so there isn't a lot of disposable income going around at the moment.

Crickey 11%. I didn't realise it was that bad. I can only imagine what it would be like in Hamilton if that many people suddenly lost their jobs.
Yeah. Actually not been living in Wellington for quite a while now, in Christchurch at the moment for work and family reasons, but I've been told by connections back up there that Lambton Quay and Courtenay Place which used to be buzzing back in the day have apparently become like ghost towns.

No? I don't go there often myself but whenever I do there's still plenty of foot traffic even on weekdays.

Idk, maybe they were packed like sardines back in the day or something but both are still very busy places

Sorry should've been more specific, I meant in relation to the businesses and the number of them closing down or sitting vacant, particularly hospitality.
