Did anyone here go to the Fan Fest at Fraser Park on Sunday? If so, how was it?
Hi there, yes we went to Fraser Park. It was pretty chill, most people there were families with kids getting merch signed. The club provided colouring sheets, posters and flags. The players rocked up just after four and were pretty quiet, signed stuff and looked exhausted. It was only a week since the highs of playing extra time at Porirua Park. They'd not had time to rest since and were up at 5am to catch the flight back to WLG.
Domey said some words, he talked about the recent loss of David Cross and how he helped shape the clubs supporters group, how from the start that was to be inclusive of all and to build strong community roots, how the women's team has become such an important part of the club's identity and embodies that vision, and how all NZ can be proud of them. CJ and Mac B both said a few words then Bev spoke of plans for how we build on this for next season.
After that, the club served up some nibbles for the players and we grabbed a chance to grab an interview with Mac B and MVDM before everyone drifted off home.
