8 month contract. Less tax/super
Rent and utilities 12k, insurances rental, medical, car, vehicle & petrol costs 10k, boots shoes, and other gear another 2k. Leaves about 6k for food, toiletries etc if you r lucky.  It's a constant struggle that most can't do without additional work or support.  With training days varying based on game days and travel, u would need a super flexible employer to help top it up. If u r a super fleible employer, get in touch, i know a few girls who might appreciate some work!

I don't have the answer, I just want to acknowledge how tough it must be for Knott and many others who are in the same situation.

To expect that kind of commitment for $36k a season is ludicrous.
But I can also understand the Nix not having the resources to pay high(er) wages.

It really sucks.

But hang on, how long is the "season?"
4 or 5 months?

Which leaves you with 6 months to work on something else. So really 36k for half a years commitment sounds pretty good to me

$72k per year pro rata is a good wage? Wow I've never been rich but I must say, I wouldn't work for that, especially if I had to train most days of the week and had to travel to play in Australia every second game.
