From his wiki page
Wood also passed his driving test at the age of seventeen. Seconds.
hattrick
There's a lot of praise for him in the bbc live thread right now:
CHAMPIONSHIP LATEST
Right now, Chris Wood is possibly the hottest striking property in the whole country. He's scored twice against struggling Bristol City for Leicester, taking him to eight goals in his last five games
James Barry on Twitter: "Shout out for Chris Wood - Leicester City goal machine!"
Ben Johnson on Twitter: "If Michu is bargain of the season, Chris Wood has to be the next best transfer!"
Indeed he is a goal machine. Wood is like a man possessed at the moment - scoring like his life depends on it. He's netted twice already at Bristol City to take his Leicester tally to five goals in two and [almost] a half games since his move from West Brom.
Hat trick for Chris!
My inlaws bought my now one month old son a Leicester kit as his first footy gear. Naturally I was distressed at the time, might go get it numbered Wood 39 for him now though
Fantastic for him, hattrick time
Insane
Looking like Leicester picked up an absolute bargain.. Hoping they get promoted, hoping Wood would stay first team in the EPL..
I do this too - seems like every time I check it , Wood scores! Legend. Already a club favourite at Leicester. Bristol City was a bogey team for them tpp
Some crazy shit on those Liecester forums:
"If you were the human centipede which players would you want to be joint to?
I'd like to be in the middle attached the the rectum of Wood. Then I'd have Beckford eating my shit at the back. Fabulous"
Was reading their game thread, one person had 5 quid on a Wood hat trick & them winning 4-0. Will be one very happy Foxes fan today.
But he's not prem quality... hopefully now people are dropping these thoughts and going with the consensus.
Quality start and a top year to date.
That has to be the softest hat trick I have ever seen. All three goals.
^^ Just what I was thinking!

He's never going to be a technically great striker - his first touch will always be a bit off; think that's the issue WBA had with him.

Its not like every player in the EPL can bring a ball down like Ronaldinho. Ive seen far worse control from "EPL Quality" players
also he's only 21 - so his touch should get better the more he plays at a high level.

Fair point about the step up and managers looking to bring in proven quality.
However, I can't recall too many Championship players banging them in as regularly as he is and as young as he is over the last few years. The only one that comes to mind was Earnshaw, who is a completely different typ of player and was also a few years older when given a chance.
Truth is we'll never know until he finally gets a decent crack at it.
Quick question... are Championship strikers generally seen as better players than those in the Scottish Premier League (Celtic and Rangers really) because players making that move have been hit and miss also.

Haha, we both posted the same link at the same time!

Hi Toplefty, How many hat tricks have you scored?

Scoring goals is about putting the ball in the back of the net. I'd love to have a shit touch and be able to score at will. Seems we are always quick to point out a players flaws when they are doing well. He is a good lad and just happy he is doing so well. Could be worse, we could be supporters of NZ Cricket HAHAHA
I think having Brockie at the Nix has raised the standard in terms of the quality of goals we expect.

Suppose what I was getting at was that a Goal is a Goal, you dont get "extra" for a 30 yard screamer

So... Smeltz or Wood in the starting XI for the All Whites quals?
