Indeed he is a goal machine. Wood is like a man possessed at the moment - scoring like his life depends on it. He's netted twice already at Bristol City to take his Leicester tally to five goals in two and [almost] a half games since his move from West Brom.

For what it's worth, still think he's nowhere near the Premiership level - his first touch on Leicester's fourth goal a case in point.
He's never going to be a technically great striker - his first touch will always be a bit off; think that's the issue WBA had with him.

And the only way we'll know if he can cut it in the Premier League is if he gets the chance.

well taken goals though. weak defending, but still good forward play. Nice move for the 1st and 3rd and good anticipation for the 2nd. Think Bristol is the bottom of the table now though?

He doesn't have to be Ronaldinho, but his first touch is bad, and that's been apparent on a fairly regular basis (even against inferior opposition from the Islands). It's something he really ought to have fixed by now and if he hasn't by now - at 21 he's got a little room for improvement, but not a hell of a lot. He won't be a 'young' player much longer.
His best chance of playing in the Premier League is to get promoted up. Even then he'll have to compete against new strikers, as promoted clubs generally try to get forwards with Premiership experience to strengthen when going up. The history of prolific Championship forwards making a successful step-up to the Premier League hasn't been very good in recent years.
Having said all that, good luck to him and hopefully he keeps up this scoring spree he's been on.

I think his best bet is to do a Ricki Lambert/Grant Holt - destroy the championship so that by the time you're going up you're in top form and you can be a real physical threat. Even then you're only going to suit a certain style of play. I agree that he just doesn't look like a premiership striker even though he's only young. Look at the champ golden boot list from the past years and it's not a path to premier league success. In fact most have failed in the premiership the next season

Even so he got name checked on Goals on Sunday and there was a ten minute discussion of his attributes with Gus Poyet who had him at Brighton. He wasn't over the top in praise but was really keen to point out that he's been really consistent in scoring goals. Chris Kamara pointed out that West Brom might regret letting him go for the sake of 1m quid

Exactly, Berisha's hatrick against Adelaide last season were all tap-ins from one meter away from goal.
Scoring goals is about putting the ball in the back of the net. I'd love to have a shit touch and be able to score at will.
