Don't really agree. The same as previous games, most of the long balls are diagonals out to wide players and from my perspective the play through the middle of the park has been good.

Next half count each ball sent in the air, be it a diagonal to a wide player or through the middle and then count each time its successful. to make it clear and simple success is when we are able to COMPLETE a pass from the person receiving that aerial ball.

Then come back to me with the success rate.

We are awful with respect to this.

We are the better football team but we dont allow our players to play pass and move.

90% of our balls going forward are in the air.

we play it on the deck, through the midfield and score. A moment earlier we went long and the receiver gave the ball away.

Keep it on the fudgeing deck.

2-1 win, we had best player on the park in Singh and also the worst player on the park in our keeper.

Well the two goals on the deck surely shows we have a coach who will pass it through the middle of the park. For the record we sent 34 balls in the air and were successful with 8. I counted 125 passes in total that half, but didn't distingiush between those that went forward and did not.

The way to untie in this tournament is through GD or head to head results? If it is by GD we need Kenya to now win by a 3 goals margin

H2H then GD - will only matter if India, Kenya, NZ all end up on 6 points, which would be a H2H tie, so comes down to GD. Kenya win by 1 or 2 - NZ in, 3 or more, Kenya in.

Atmosphere was wicked. Indians don't have a clue about football. Goal was terrible to concede, Cacacre had a poor game, Billingsley a waste of an airfare and every Indian in the stadium was confused as to why Singh was playing for us, not them.  How India scored all those goals before today beats me, never ever looked like scoring.

I'll try and upload a video from the crowd. Indiaaaaa, India.  ?

Oh yeah Gulley to the Nix.

Really good result. Happy for the maligned Dyer, it's not his fault if he kept getting selected by Hudson, when he probably shouldn't have.

Even if AWs miss out on the final, this tourney has been really worthwhile. Hopefully they get invited back next year - if becomes an annual event.

A chance to assess the next layer of talent/increase player depth, exposure to hot steamy conditions not unlike the Islands, plus good experience for Schmid and his staff to bed in some of their ideas, or throw out the ones that don't work.

Fingers crossed some of the amateur Handy Prem players secure a pro contract with the Nix, or overseas.

Interesting that he has given all 3 keepers a game.

Beware song as soundtrack

OK, so Dyer actually is Brad Scott - plays in the third match of a tournament hosted in an Asian country in really humid conditions and scores the winner... freaky...

Deserved to win by 5, and with a good striker, would have.

India were outplayed in the first half then backed off in the second, gave NZ tons of time on the ball. Made NZ look good.

Payne looked pretty good, but not really pressured.

Second goal was interesting - Singh cut across the top of the penalty area from the left, wrong-footing almost everyone, and put a beautifully weighted pass to the right, into a pocket of space he'd made, and only a few m from....Billingsley.

Meantime, Dyer, who knew exactly what was going on, was sprinting from L to R into the space, anticipating the pass, and got the ball in the net before Billingsley had time to react.

I truly doubt there were many other players in the NZ side with the vision to do that.

I really hope NZ starts picking more players like that - often small, slight, but technically excellent, with vision. It's much better to watch, and it wins games.

What someone praising Moses Dyer!! Bunter you are obviously new to this forum.

But well done to Dyer for his goal. This after all is the 2nd AWs coach, who has picked him for the national (admittedly severely weakened this time) national team.

Hopefully Nix pick him and/or a few other Handy players up. Unless they have a Euro passport, it is hard for young Kiwis to get that first pro gig.

The more Kiwis playing pro football the better.

Doesn’t mean he wasn’t crap when he was called up under Hudson. Fair play to him though, been very good for Suburbs throughout the season and played well today, absolutely no reason to ‘bash’ him. Hate posts like this

I've often looked at the selection of Moses Dyer and shaken my head in bewilderment. I have yet to watch the game but I'm more than happy to reappraise him if he deserves it.

I always felt a bit sorry for him in that there is obviously a good footballer there somewhere but said footballer never reared its head when picked for the AWs. It always seemed to me that Moses was the player that Hudson kept picking so that there would one day be a told-you-so moment for him to gloat about. Maybe that moment (and more to follow) has come, but Hudson's done a runner and isn't around to enjoy it.

And now, in Fritz I trust...

Those two Singh assists where great! It look so easy, sleek when he does it, perfectly weighted and precise. Reminds me of Oezil. Singh should start every game for us. Feeding Krishna and Burns with older defensive midfielder marque in his back.

If he continues like this, I can see Singh only being with us next season and then making it fairly big in Aussie first and then elsewhere a-la Rojas (hopefully better!).

I think he's a better player than Rojas in the making IMO.

He may not be quite as good with the ball at his feet (still very good by NZ standards), but he has better vision than Rojas and more importantly a much better eye for goal.

I think he has one more year with us before someone comes shopping - I expect him to get a really good look at by scouts in next years u20 WC.

A very young Ryan Thomas skipped Aussie altogether and went straight to the Dutch top flight. How old was he when he made that move?

I honestly think that he is good enough and showing that much promise that he could by pass a stint with an Aussie club and go straight to Europe or somewhere. Who knows he might get some big offers from India now that might be lucrative cash wise but not so for further development.

There were certainly players on the pitch that the Nix should look at. I didn't think so up until today, but a fine effort, specially considering they had only one day to recover. Payne looked very composed.

Good, that was one area of his game I thought let him down - tended to over hit through balls (something I thought Ljujic was very good at)

I was a basher but he looked composed on the wing and took the goal well. I think most of us know he has ability but was being picked too young by Hudson. This is a youth side which is where he belongs. Still not good enough for the Nix yet but another season or to things might be different. Also better then the donkey, aka Billingsley who reminds me a lot of plodder/Christie.
