Have a look on the Declan Edge forum its all covered  how he wanted to be Assistant Coach of Team Wellington but they told him No!  so he took his ball and kids elsewhere.

He has now got the hump with Auckland City so Easts are next cab off the rank and take your pick who after that.

It's also been rumoured TW said none of his players would get any game time which is why he went elsewhere. Maybe the shift to Eastern Suburbs is to get more of them game time which ACFC couldn't/wouldn't do.

He really does boil your piss doesn't he.

You and your Ole mates come onto a Phoenix Supporters' web site and bang on about how none of the Ole kids want to play for the Phoenix. Of course you stress that this is not coming from Ole, yeh right.

So what you are saying is that our team, The Phoenix  is not up to your standards. Well maybe you should go elsewhere with your anti Phoenix crap.

I barely touch the Phoenix parts of the forum these days but get a lot out of this place because after it was founded it very quickly became the best NZ football website, partly because the mods have let people have their say even if they don't like the Phoenix. I'm sorry you want those people to go away, but they won't.

In fact, as someone who was an ardent Phoenix fan for the first 9-10 years but who now thinks having only one professional club is counter-productive, I truly hope that if the Phoenix do ever cease to exist that this website and the YF/WN community continue to exist.

I think what the other poster was saying, is that the choice is not risk free for a player moving from Ole to the nix at age 18/19. The Nix doesn't have a great record at continuing development in the critical years. It's not about saying they are too good for the nix, but where are they best placed to continue to develop as players.

That's the choice facing those players; where are the next few years best for them and their long term goals.

It's not disparaging to the Nix or the the A-League to state that the goals for NZ are to have our brightest young talents playing professionally in the best leagues in the world.

You need to have a lie down mate.

All I've done is respond to your rants about Declan/Ole/Wests in pretty much every thread on this forum.

You clearly have unresolved issues with the man but continue to spout nonsense about what he is supposed to have done.

I know there is more to the TW situation, just like I know there is more to the ACFC situation and there is more to the WP situation.

I know, because there are always two sides to any story.

But you believe what you want and continue to be bitter and twisted about whatever it is he did to you.

Maybe you didn't get to live out your dreams through your son, is that it ?

If I'm reading this right, you're saying that Declan has failed (trying to partner with a national team) and that you're upset that he's trying again?

Over coming failure is the key to success mate...

What I am saying is that Declan makes enemies easily. He has fallen out with Team Wellington, Auckland City, NZ Football, The Phoenix. He is running out of options

Ramon didn't lie, people just assumed he did have the correct licenses, when he finally got asked directly he was quite honest about it

Lying by omission...

He had for years been mention for higher jobs both at the Nix and New Zealand Football and not once came out to correct that information when he knew he didn't have the licences required. I admit he is a good coach with what he has done at Auckland City, but he made the decision to go with an unrecognised provider and not choose an option, that while may have meant he had to leave NZ/Auckland City for good or for a while, meant he could get the higher licenses actually required for those roles

Would take the opportunity to point out that Declan doesn't believe that certificates designate ability, if you follow the rollercoaster ride that is his Twitter account. I suspect the reasons are more complex

ha ha. I'm serious. Is it being framed as the Danny & Declan show, best of both worlds etc. but less spots for local kids? Or something else?

Just quietly, I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Thomas' brother Adam ends up at Eastern Suburbs this summer. Played in Wests last three games (his first matches in about six years), saw him today and he already looks too good for that level, can't help but see him getting better as his fitness improves.

Why has he not played in 6 years?

There are two elements to the partnership. At elite level, a number of Edge's top prospects from his Western Suburbs team are expected to join the Eastern Suburbs ISPS Handa Premiership side.

Edge will relocate to Auckland for part of the pre-season, working alongside head coach Danny Hay.

Once the season starts, Declan will return to Wellington but he will remain a technical adviser for us.

At the development level, Eastern Suburbs plan to establish an Ole-based programme within their existing academy, restricted to 50-60 children drawn from across Auckland and surrounding areas.

good to hear. he was a class player and would have kicked on to be a very good all white if injury hadn't buggered him

I think you'll find that there is no relation between Ryan and Adam. However, they both trained under D. Edge in Hamilton. Adam was part of the 2012 London Olympic team, and I understand he has just had injury after injury. Great to see him back on the pitch!

I wonder how the partnership got together, must assume Danny Hay wanted to learn how to implement Wests style of play at East and how to produce more young talent like Ole. Whatever it is I'm all for it, the more quality systems for youth to access the larger the talent pool we will eventually have in NZ. Then the cream will rise to the top and improve competition for National Team squads and the National League competition.
