Accumulated points: Brookside (3), Taieri Plains (4), Braveheart (3), Natpevin (5), Mosgielhard (3), Fridgemagnet (5), Troll (2), Evans29 (2), Dino10 (2), Gooner (4), Rugby (2).

It kinda helps your points accumulation if you actually put your scores in. NatPevin2012-04-11 13:04:17

I'm sulking now. The bye next week won't help at all (or do we have a friendly against the Milk Cup lads?), and then we face the Northerners. And we have Evans29 saying we are a bunch of softies - Northern will just love that. Another draw or a loss and I would agree a successful season starts to look unlikely.

Northern away, Mosgiel home, Caversham away, then University at home, doesn't look promising for wins but i can see a few draws in there

Heard an interesting rumor out of my Football South source. Apparently The Highgate Hobbits out of Division 6 have 2 weeks to "Join a real club" or they are going to be kicked out of the league. Can anyone say, "Banjo Country"?

Oh and Tech 5 - Mosgiel 0. Face it people ;)

The Hobbits cant win, they were originally fathers of Maori Hill Junior Players, put a team in under the Maori Hill banner and Northern put the stop to them using the name. Came up with the silly moniker more in spite. It is only Masters Football. They have had a few issues over the years with Tech and Mosgiel.

And consistent with the ARSEen Wenger theme, Cavvy do seem to have a youthful focus this season - I see young Ridden has 2 goals from 2 games already and Fitzpatrick also has one at the right end. And they have also snatched Matt Bruin from Tech, who I think has potential but has flattered to deceive to date. I applaud that youthful focus. I wish Roslyn had snapped up those youngsters because, although you never can tell, at least one of them will come good with time. I am cautious in saying 'you can't win anything with kids', but if Cavvy were to get Horner fit again and Tommy Jackson back (yes, I've heard it through the grapevine), plus this dude Pablo (who apparently is some player) I would be deeply worried about anyone's chances of keeping up with them. What did Cavvy have to pay for those players? Just the promise of National League football?

On paper the future is promising with Roslyn youngsters Sam Mepham and Aajay C leading the way - pity we don't have Matt Joy also. Then there's Joel Stevens and Matt Brook overseas. We must continue to invest in the Milk Cup - we have natural talent to burn, they just need to clock up the miles to have a chance of kicking on.NatPevin2012-04-11 20:21:32

Roslyn lacked depth last year and were average in Fletcher Cup, but were the dominate side in the previous 10 years.

Tommy will be going back to the the states and i very much doubt hips Horner will be gracing the footy field for the train this season or in the near future..As for this guy Pablo? doesnt he live in Invers?Surely the promise of the flash new adidas kit and a coke after the game would be enough?

Back in town & back online! nothing beats the sh*t talking of Dunedin football. Some of the crap in this forum since i last visited is downright entertaining!

On the topic of entertaining, is it actually going to be worth while going to watch Long Ball Athletic play Kick & Chase FC on saturday? It appears the best game on paper but how often do they deliver.

On a perfect day for football,Mikes Prems were transferred from the Gardens to theCaledonian to play Northern. With several players unavailable and the bench full of pimply faced youngsters thiswas going to make for an interesting game.Northern played a very defensive game, and did well tostem many of our attacks, ourfinishing wasnt near as goodas what it should be.Burgee was kept quiet unitilearly in the second half.Northern doug deep kept to there very basic game plan, on another day wecould of ran away with it.Towards the end of the game Northern got the equaliser after a defensiveerror.Tristan was given a Red for apparent incorrect use of the Queens English, much to the shock of all around who heard nothing.. Interesting to note that theNorthern goal keeper was only cautioned in the first half for his same pottymouth issue. Player of the day was awarded to one of the most under ratedplayers in the league Sam Enright, pic above.Looking forward to next week when all team will be up and running.

This should come as no surprise. If you beat/draw with Tech it is because they were off their game not because you played well. To me the attitude of the club is deeply arrogant. It may not be the players who hold this attitude as Judda pointed out Northern deserved the point but you certainly get that feeling from those in higher positions.

I had the feeling moose writes all the tech match reports? Could be wrong tho. Judda i think you should take these over going forward.....in the words of david brent "maybe i should do it..... for the comedy"

Roslyn bye this weekend, comes at a time when the team need to regroup. Apparently some of the players went out for dinner last night with a couple of the mosgiel players, and in true plainsmen fashion the mosgiel players were very embarassing. In particluar curtis day who it turns out is a bit of an animal after a few drinks (its genetic)....smooth talking/serenading the ladies at the next table was a nice touch though, far more subtle than one T.Dunn (rugbyman? Brookside?) throwing his food around the place.....one hopes his ball control will be tighter at the caledonian tomorrow.....

Great call.

I personally didn't see anything wrong with Tech's write up, its Tech's report on their club. Why shouldn't it be focussed on Tech?
Norzern got a bit of credit, but I don't see why they have to should they have to pump Norzen's tyres?

I've seen a few Roslyn lads embarass themselves ovber the years 3-5-2 (or should I say LV).

i used to hold a similar opinion before i signed for Tech back in 99, i used to think Barry White was the biggest c$#t on the planet when i was younger but couldn't have been further from the truth, both club & person had deep desire to win & maybe that comes across arrogant.
