Are we playing ACFC again a week later?

Nope, it's the Wel-Classico. TeeDubs v WeeNix.

The Phoenix seniors with no game...I wonder if they will drop players in? What are the rules on it?

From memory, there's a list of senior players that can be dropped to play the reserves, from memory it's up to three players from that list on a given game day. Not sure who's on the list though.

Also, since I'm writing this from memory, there's a decent chance I'm wrong...

The first two rounds they have had 3. Week one Elliott, Devlin, McGing, week 2 was Scott, Elliott and McGing.

If they did use the regrading rules Cap Footy uses  then McGing and Elliot have played 2 games down so would be regraded.

1.1.23 WPNLPA: Wellington Phoenix National League Player Agreement - Dictates how many senior/Contracted players can play in any game.

This is not listed in the regs or seperately on NZF site.   So we wait for Team sheets

As I understand it, the Phoenix are allowed to drop down as many U-20 players as they want (so those born 1999 and later – Elliot, McCowatt, Scott, Cacace, Waine).

It's possible this is now U-21, to reflect the change from U-20 to U-21 at A-League level, which would mean Devlin, McGing and Piscopo can drop down too.

Then on top of the U-20/U-21 players, whichever it is, they are allowed to drop down two senior players and a goalkeeper.

I thought Rogerson looked just like the issues he always had. Goes to ground to easily when holding possession would be better and runs himself into dead ends because he doesn't look up.

People calling for him to be at the Phoenix are taking the piss.

He was in the team of the week.

God there are some average venues played at.

And they need to sort their logo graphics out

From stuff article today..."With no A-League match this weekend, Talay said he planned to drop seven players down play for the reserve team in their national league match against Team Wellington"

Yeah although it turns out that includes Sutton who played WeeNix the week before and the four Aussie youngsters who have all already played for the WeeNix this season.

Sail was always going to play in goal when the first team are at home or not playing so really the only actual drop/or unexpected player is TAHW.

6-1 drubbing by the TeeDubs. Couple of cracking goals too, especially JHS's second.

I felt very Meh on him, he looked young, made some immature decisions and I am not sure he passed forward at all during the game.

Not to say he was bad, he took his goal well, he just needs time at the senior level to settle into it I think.

Watson 95th minute equaliser for a 1-1 draw. both sides pretty average. never been a great fan of artifciial turfs but Seddon Fields severely disadvantaged anyone wanting to play with any ball speed. Bassett missed a classic almost open goal in first half when ball bobbled. Markovic standout for TW in my view . Poor game .Waitak will be far the happier of the two sides

Team Wellington’s Hamish Watson scored twice in the first five minutes at David Farrington Park, volleying home from a corner and then converting a one-on-one chance a minute later to get his team off to a flyer. Sam Mason-Smith made it a 3-0 cushion at half time with a diving header, before Nathanael Hailemariam had the last say in additional time.

Hawke’s Bay battled hard but were always playing catch up in the face of a supremely confident Team Wellington, who sit well clear in second place after today’s win.

He was last season. Was with Bubbles last winter season, and joined TeeDubs after that.

I guess someone had to take Kampman's place as he's got a scholarship in the US I think.
