Welcome to the world of an Arsenal supporter. Playing teams with 11 men in the box, aint always fun to watch, but it works often enough for the lesser teams, that they are not going to change this tactic anytime soon. UberGunner2007-09-25 11:28:17

Agreed, but Rafa also wouldn't comment on whether he was going to start Torres against Wigan. Obviously part of that is not wanting to give 'em a heads on our gameplan, but I've got to say I'm not a fan of Rafa's rotation policy.

The best striker should start, and that's clearly Torres.

3 points today all I wanted. Kirkland looked to make a few saves but still not the best performance especially being pressed so hard at the end.

Good to see Yossi get another goal and now maybe a start?

You can't help feeling that we should be winning these games more comfortably.  The 3 points are very welcome but we aren't setting the league alight.  I want to see solid stylish performances.

LP played crap,  maybe shood have snuck the equaliser in dying stages.  Well done Celtic,  hope Sky replay's both games tonight.
That knocks us to 3rd in the group,  who have we got next by the way?

Liverpool play Besiktas in Istanbul next. A pitiful performance this morning, didn't deserve anything from the game. Should teach them a lesson that you don't always get away with results after playing well for only 5 minutes (in the injury time this time).

And Anfield was very silent in the second half - it felt as if the game was at Velodrome in Marseille...

I dont like seeing them playing so conservative for most of the game (or maybe they're just out of form).  I think Gerrard needs a good rest for a couple of weeks.  I know its a big risk but I think he will come back refreshed and a stronger player.

The last 5 minutes we could've stole the game but horrible performance, which they couldn't string together 2 passes. Lucky Reina was playing well or it would have been worse. The midfield was rubbish today Sissoko has shown none of the form from the previous seasons and Gerrard again sub standard, Leto shouldn't have played...another poor performance

That was the biggest disgrace of the night as far as I'm concerned. Can't believe I'm siding with a Toff, but that was a sh!te effort from the supporters, and it's not the first time this year either...

You've got far too many Plastic Scousers supporting the club, that's the problem, too many glory hunters.

No one commenting on Spurs game?

Rafa was going on about defensive lapses that led to the goals but I'm not too sure what he is talking about one of the goals, Berbatov just got above Hyypia for the flick on, because he was in front and then Carragher was just beaten to the ball by Keane to the toe poke, I don't think there was a lapse for that just beaten by more athletic players.

The other was very similar but that one the marking was poorer.

We were lucky to get a point by all accounts. I'm a bit worried by the performance against these teams that are struggling. A couple of dissapointing homes performances (team and crowd) in the last month.

Heres hoping Rafa wises up, gets sick of the rotation and sticks to the most consistant squad...

Decent play today, but it was against mostly 10 men, still playing better than the previous gamers, 3 points and most importantly derby win. Lucky with the ref today, Everton should have had a penalty at the final whistle.

Defended corners and freekicks well. But we lost and were put in bad situations by not dealing with players backing in to goal (Anichebe mostly). Gerrard getting back on track too. Hopefully this will give them momentum for upcoming games.

Rafa's "playing with too much passion" decision to take off Gerrard was odd and everyone was shocked, but it didn't cost him and Lucas look good

Let me see if i got this correct! I watched the game by the way. Liverpool stole the points from Everton? well it just proves the rumours about Merseyside. When even football teams are thieves.

Just kidding ya's....or am I?

Nah, Rafa forked out 20mil cause a good looking player might attract a few female fans (and maybe a few male ones) to the game. Has nothing to do with buying a desperately need creative striker...

Oh, little note to Rafa about Torres, while we're on the subject. If you buy a striker with the intention of him netting 20+ goals for the club, it would probably be a good idea to at least let him play 20 games. Not even on the bench ffs

We'll have to win the next 3, and get our GD up if we want to.

Didn't watch the game, but was watching the ESPN Gamecast, sounds like a poo effort all round

I caught the first half. You looked pretty bad. But admittedly the opposition defended well.

It's not going to be easy winning in Marseilles.

Torres wasn't match fit, was ruled out of the match a day earlier https://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11669_2819449,00.html

Another sub standard performance, missed Hyypia OG watching UEFA match cast, they pinned the goal on 3 different players before changing it to a Hyypia OG. Switched over to watch the game later in the second half. Hyypia and Carragher aren't defending well and both have been struggling this season.

Before the season started I thought we needed to sign defensive cover for our centerbacks and I think recent performances have shown this.

Today Hyypia scored an OG, can't be blamed, but against Everton it was his fault (although a miss hit), but he was beaten all too easily on the ground multiple times today and If a player gets on the outside of Carragher there's none of his usual telescopic slide tackle trick, they just breeze past or he fouls.

We need to be better against Arsenal, with the form they are showing, although Adebayor seems to keep missing chances yet they score so many from the midfield players.

Hahaha, Liverpools defence play just like the Nix in this latest game. It looked oh so familiar. Does this mean the Nix are up there after all??

I think if we man mark Fabregas with Mascherano (or Sissoko) and get him nipping at his heals we can unsettle Arsenal, If you saw the Bolton game Diouf got into Fabregas' head and he can get sloppy, both those players were on the verge of a red card, and more importantly Arsenal didn't score for that half or threaten as much.

If we stop Fabregas we can stop the majority of the attacks since everything seems to go through him (he makes like 50 passes a game).

Doesn't help me typing this though, Rafa will has his plan, and under him we've had mixed results. Best one being the game we won 2-1. Alonso scoring from a great passing move, Vieira scoring from Arsenal's only shot (Oh no Henry had a halfway lash), then Mellor unleashing over the top of a diving Harry Kewell in the last minute!!

If both Sissoko and Mascherano man-marked Fabregas at the same time they still wouldn't have a chance, they are both sh*te.
