I read an article on .tv that had a short message from Martin Broughton explaining he thought the club would be sold by the end of the summer. Also, Roy has said he would like it to be done too.

Torres will be out for three weeks, but he is expected back for Arsenal game, but unlikely to be match fit.

Djibril Cisse wants to come back, he never got to prove himself as a striker when he was here. Although I didn't think he was the greatest finisher, he had a good powerful shot, good movement and of course heaps of pace. Plus looked good for Sunderland a while back.

Insua just sold to Fiorentina for $5m. Thought that was a bit cheap...

Shame he' decided to go, I thought he was looking good for this season. Guess he's chosen the glory of Serie A mid table...

Not sure why you'd go to Fioren when your pretty much guaranteed first team footy at 'Pool.

Really gutted about Nemeth- had high hopes for him. Same with Insua. Thought he was tidy, although was always learning and developing too. One of the youngsters I predicted would do well. Not too sure if its true that the deal has been done yet though...

I don't know if we'll see Masch leave either. Rafa will know the politics in the background and won't pay top dollar for him. LFC won't want to give in to Rafa either. The big issue is Masch's attitude towards the team if he doesn't transfer...

Nabil El-Zhar is set to leave, going back to St Etienne it seems. Not too fussed at all.

Seems to be a fair amount of rumours and gossip regarding who is running the show at the moment. Roy stated that Insua looked sharp. Why would he sell if that was the case? Maybe Broughton/ Purslow are battling for same as they did with Rafa? Hope not

I wonder if it's time make a move for someone like Ireland? With Silva arriving at Citeh shortly it'll put another squeeze on who fit's in their midfield. Someone like Ireland could well have an eye on greener pastures and particularly now that Yossi have left too.

Yeah I wonder what might have been for Cisse without that tackle, looking at wiki his last season he was awesome but that is a completely different league to the prem. He totally loved being a Liverpool player though. Depends how much he costs I guess.

I hope this Insua news isn't true, why are we selling off a young player who has proven himself even though we have no left backs. Aurelio gone, Dossena gone and now Insua.

Jack Robinson better be the second coming of Paolo Maldini, 'cos at the moment that is all we have.

Oh and Maynor Figueroa is touted as a player Hodgson wants to bring in.

It mostly because he's an arrogant, money hungry, whinging, whining, no good for nothing git that should currently be stationed somewhere in Siberia getting his @rse burnt off in a heatwave...

I'm hoping for big things from Aquaman this year. Riera was a Twit but he did make our starting line-up for a while and played alright. Hopefully Roy can make something happen....in fact we do have a few talented players who didn't live up to expectations. hopefully a change in manager might make a difference...Babel, Aquaman,  Riera, (sraping the barrel now!)

Agree with you Tyler, aqua has had a season to get used to the english game and hopefully he stays injury free and shows everyone how good he is!

Looks like Loic Remy is coming in for a reported �15m, seems like it would be a huge chunk of the budget, on a player not proven. But could turn out to be a great player too.

There are plenty of Henry comparisons, but they always are around when you are a fast French striker who has played a bit on the wing.

Also these comments from Hodgson over night in regards to transfers:

"If you want to know about transfer targets, and how things are progressing, you'll have to ask (managing director) Christian Purslow because he's the man looking after those discussions, not me."

Since when does the managing director whose sole role is to find investment in the club now control all transfers?!

Oh no. Thats terrible. Why on earth would you think that it makes sense for Purslow to have such control over the transfers! Still don't understand why Insua has been sold. Not like we have an abundance of left backs like we used to. Purslow must have his eye on someone, bet Roy can't wait to see who turns up!

Some interesting tidbits circulating at the mo. Apparently Joe Cole was spotted in Liverpool about a week ago and now he's supposedly shown up in Switzerland. If it's true, it's certainly promising.

You gotta love the off season. Is there any other sport that generates as much interest and talk when no games are being played

I think Joe Cole would be great....he has had a couple of bad injuries though hasn't he? What we don't need is another broken superstar.
