Yes.

So he doesn't count as an import for us, but would for any other A-League side.

With his goal scoring form though it would be a well justified use of a visa spot...

So does his recent award/season now rank him top 3 Nix players of all time? alongside Dura and Ifill? i certainly think so. Hopefully we pay the man what he's worth.

If Roy ends up playing for the Etihad F.C I'll puke. Wherever he decides to go/stay he deserves whatever someone decides to pay him. He's been an absolute legend for our club so I don't hold anything against him if he takes a better paying option elsewhere.

You'd have to be absolutely blind to the realities of modern life if you begrudged Roy trying to cash in on his marketability right now. This is pretty much his last chance to get a massive payday, and he's got every right to seek to maximise that opportunity, wherever that means he ends up playing next season.

Will very much miss Roy, but I believe he's gone and have made peace with it already. I just hope he goes to Korea rather than Melbourne.

Absolutely. He's scored almost 20 more goals than Ifill in just 15 more games. More assists than any other Nix player too, I believe. Nix Legend

Yep, he's earned his name in the elite, put him above Smeltz too.

100% agree, I would just be dissapointed if (outside another club going completely bonkers with marquee money) he went to an A League club because WE weren't the ones offering him the most cash.

Reckon he's #1 for me. Too bad he hasn't had any positive finals memories like Ifill, though.

Surely Ifill has to be number 1? Best player when the team was at the height of the success, and one of the best players in the league at the same time (in fact, it's a travesty that out of the three Johnny Warren medallists that the club has had, none of them is Ifill, but that's a different story.

For all the success that Krishna has had this season, for most of his time here he's played second-fiddle to someone else - be it Nathan Burns, or even guys like Blake Powell or Andrija Kaludjerovic, and the team has failed to win a play-off game during his time here, missed the playoffs more often than it made them, and finished in the top half of the table only once.

I'm not trying to knock Roy, and his goal-scoring stats for the club are impressive, but in terms of player impact on the team and the club overall, he's nowhere near Ifill.

On his past....Hope to inspire Fiji kids etc, island nations need a chance and some belief

On his future....Didn't turn pro til 26, now at 31 still has a lot to give (non-committal)

Good couple of minutes though; Must have been a slow sports news day for TV 1 to give that much time to football

Watched it on One News, might watch the Newshub one in an hour on +1 to see if there was any difference. Didn't give much away about contract side of things, apart from Andrew Saville saying he's attracted interest from across the A-League, India and Asia. Which is not news to us...

Krishna said he'd talked with Talay while he was in Sydney and thinks he'll be the right man for the job if everyone gets behind him etc etc. Talked about wanting the game to grow in the Pacific, but especially in Fiji. Seemed to be relatively upbeat and smiling as ever so couldn't really tell much else. He'd be a good poker player that's for sure.

from 3news coverage re emphasised family is important and had positive talks with Talay and rejected another offer. Sounded like he wants to stay.

I know it'd be met with skepticism from some on here about games outside of Wellington, but say, if he did sign on to stay in Wellington for next season, would Welnix tinker with the idea of taking a regular season match to Fiji?

I don't know about the contractual goings on, but could maybe use it as an unconventional incentive? He always talks so passionately about his homeland and you can tell it's close to his heart. I reckon that'd be the type of thing that would be worth a look at, and would tug at Roy's heartstrings. Reckon we'd get an absolute bumper crowd too so could be a win-win. Rest of his contract would have to stack up in terms of the money on offer, but could be something that would make him think his future lies in Wellington, even if we're not as cashed up as some of the other offers.

Just thinking outside the box of course.

What I got from TV3.

He wants a long term deal where ever he signs. After meeting Talay, expecting big things for the Nix next season.

Like it and why not. Nix have played 'home' games at far less worthy places. Might sell an extra 1,000 or so $30 replica shirts.

Fox Sports a big stumbling block I'd imagine. Might need Fiji Govt to underwrite or something. I think they have for Super Rugby games in Fiji which caused a bit of a stink there, when there are seen as better ways to spend Govt cash.

essentially it sounds like he wants one more deal to finish on. We have to have the license thing sorted before we can offer that though, or at least be confident of it happening.

Think it's going to take anywhere in the vicinity of 700-900k a season to get him over the line. Which I think is fair for a Golden Boot and Johnny Warren medal winner.

Can't remember if it was Rollo or Voerman on twitter, or possibly on the forum who reportedly said Krishna had turned down $750k a season for a 2-3 year deal at the Bitumens (don't quote me on this! Pretty sure it was one of them though).

I know we are not supposed to get carried away, but it sounds promising. He has reportedly rejected WU, if Sydney is another of the teams he has rejected then I genuinely think we might have a shot at retaining him. He lives the club and he said he would like to stay, but its all about his family and that's damn fair enough. He's had offers from Asian clubs too that he has rejected, obviously don't know why exactly but they're far less stable then a gig would be here despite the money being better. I'm cautiously optimistic

Would be a longer deal than Kosta's though. Kosta was rumoured to be on $750,000 a year. The Nix could offer less over three years and say that was a bigger deal.
