Is Hayden Polyanzky still parading around in a 14 year olds body?
yeah he gets younger each year

Oh and feverish, nice try with the IBU baiting. But I'm happy for you (and others) to underestimate them. Looking forward to the usual first up grudge match. It usually produces entertainment in some form and will be a good early stake in the ground from two 'new' coaches.
we can get a sample with the Hilton B finals
Ish. Not sure the Reserves are a good measure but it'll be fun nonetheless. Especially if playing!
Hayden Polyanzsky = Benjamin Button
So who are in the A and B finals and where/when are they?

Div 1 final - Sunday 22/3 at 3pm
Miramar Rangers vs Stop Out
Div 2 final - Monday 23/3 at 7pm
Island Bay B v Waterside Karori B
Both games are at Petone Memorial.
IBU are a good side. Actually amazed that they haven't won Cap Prem recently. So up and down during the season but have a tonne of depth
I take it you are comparing them to BNU?
Goddamn we were pants in that game. 3 nil down after 10 minutes is never a great look. *enter poor defense* We have a lot of new players and still working on formation etc etc. But is true, some new blood at the club has really made us look a lot better than last year. Also thankfully found a real goalie to replace my running away arse
BNU get torn a new one again?

Good genes.
Only saw the last 30 minutes. Defo better than against IBU, but were 3 nil down by that point. Last 5 mins Stop Out got two more, seemed a bit of a blowout, not really fair based on what I saw.
Stop Out are hard mongrels though, reckon in a proper league match one of their lads would of had his marching orders. Hard English boys, who seem to have no problem with tackles as long as they "win the ball"
looks like SO beat Mar 3-2. Anyone see?
Hard English boys, who seem to have no problem with tackles as long as they "win the ball"
Isn't that the point of tackles?

Note the use of speech marks in there, "win the ball" meaning cleaning out the man first...

arhhh sarcasm you think…..
would it not be better to be blunt and to the point on a issue of this nature so that the ref is not likely to miss the point trying to be made.
ie
hard english boys have no issue making tackles though the player to win the ball.

I thought the sarcasm was pretty obvious, so whichever way its said does it matter...? I would hope most referees can understand sarcasm, as as a player it gets chucked around a fair bit on the pitch, particularly towards the ref... Tbh I'm confused because this really is such a pointless matter.

no Miramar, wharfies or Wests? Wests usually don't play huh
Island Bay Reserves 2-1 over North Wellington
no Miramar, wharfies or Wests? Wests usually don't play huh
Wharfies in division 2 - not sure which Wharfies team it is
North Wellington team is their 2nd team
Pretty sure Wharf didn't enter their first team last year either
Anyone have results from today? Specifically Div 2, group 4 to see who IBU B team will play in QF (after beating Marist 1 nil today to go top Group 2).
I heard IBU A beat Stop Out 6-1 and Olympic beat Wellington United 4-2 in Div 1 by the way.

what's the story with Stop Out??
Actually just noticed group 4 plays tomorrow so forget I asked!
Dunno about Stop Out. They looked ok while I was there - I left at 2-1 with 25 to go so it really blew out. Maybe made a heap of subs?
Not really. Holmes scored a screamer from about 30-35 with Campbell slightly off his line. Luc scored a really good half volley with his left (not much Chris could have done about that). The other two were pretty much identical, ball bouncing in the midfield which Luc hit first time through to Isaac who went one-on-one and completed his hat trick.
I don't think Sambo will be too worried, yes it blew out a bit, but it was a young Stop Out side. I'd say majority will be in the 2nd team (maybe fringe 1st). Notably missing Gulley, Mickey and Corrales.

a couple of those will have O-League at season start. They will also have my social team player they purchased - still waiting for the transfer fee
does anyone know the div 2 QF games. Not clear on website. Says when the games are, but not who is in the QF game.

From the results it should be -
Naenae v Waikane
Marist A v Waterside-Karori
Tawa B v Upper Hutt City B
Lower Hutt City B v Island Bay United B
Cheers, So it that listed QF 1-4 in order. To work out when your playing (Either Sun or mon)
From the results it should be -
Naenae v Waikane QF 1 ?
Marist A v Waterside-Karori QF2?
Tawa B v Upper Hutt City B QF3?
Lower Hutt City B v Island Bay United B QF4?
It's in the excel spreadsheet if you can download that. IBU at Wakefield. And Waikanae as well I think (I don't have spreadsheet on me)
There has been some fire damage to the one of the 6 yard boxes on Wakefield 1 which has made it unplayable. Games have been reshuffled.

Lower Hutt did the double beat Olympic 5-2 on Sunday and their B team beat Waikanae 2-1 on Monday night in the Division 2 final
well done LH. Top effort
Accepting applications at the moment. http://www.petonefootball.org/hilton-petone-cup
Starts Sunday 19 February and runs until Sunday 26 March.
2017 Hilton starts next weekend http://www.petonefootball.org/hilton-petone-cup/hi...
The 2018 tournament starts this weekend. The last time I had any interest was when I played in it back in the late 80's.
So what's it like these days ?
Are they club first teams, reserves or youth teams and given pre-season has been going for a few weeks is it taken seriously or just seen as a early hit out to blow out the off-season cobwebs ?

bit of a mix
Island Bay United, North Wellington, Kapiti Coast United and Stokes Valley are the clubs that haven't entered this year
Miramar and Waterside have entered the second division, which usually means it will be their reserve teams
I used to look forward to this tournament, partly cause it meant the season was about to start, but these days with the ISPS, women's and youth leagues and the A-League, football never really stops.
Also used to be good as all the games were at Petone memorial so you'd catch up with people and see who had gone where etc, but games are now played at Petone Memorial, Wakefield and Maidstone
might get along to the final
