I'm expecting Petone to take it seriously & be fairly strong. Maybe also Stop Out. 

Wellington United , Olympic & Wests to be primarily U19's with not so much focus on "results". 

Wests are missing about 5 or 6 of what will be the first team. It will be mostly U19, but that's because the squad is mostly U19.

Can say the same for Wellington United as that's the Phoenix academy team

No first team members in the squad at all.

It was a mix of last year's Cap Prem and U17's with West's finishing with four 14 year olds on the pitch (which seems to be the fashion these days).

It was a decent pre-season game with some good football played despite a strong wind blowing the length of the pitch.

West's might feel they conceded some soft goals at the end but Lower Hutt created the better changes playing with the wind in the second half.

anyone seen any of the action?

BNU beat Upper Hutt B 2-1; could've been more, hit post, and clearance off line that BNU players were convinced was over the line.

Heard that Wellington Utd (Nix academy) beat Tawa 2-1 on the other Wakefield pitch.

Olympic went down 6-1 to Petone

Tawa B - 1 Naenae - 0

Wainui - 3 Waikanae - 2

Stop Out - 3 Upper Hutt - 1

Is it a young UH side or the Hooligans?

Its not the Hooligans - they are playing as Upper Hutt C and lost 5-4 to Lower Hutt B

Wests 6-0 over Petone in quarter final. Red card early on for Petone Keeper, DOGSO with hands, outside the area.

Lower Hutt beat Wellington United 4-3 on pens tonight after a 3-3 draw

Final is on Sunday at 2 (unfortunately the same time TW v Canterbury is on) is Stop Out v Lower Hutt

Div 2 final beforehand is Wainuiomata v Waikanae

You would think they would try and organise it, so Football people could see both and not have to choose???

LH/Nix have pulled out of Div1, Seatoun to take their spot....They will be the only Cap1 side in Div 1. Easier games for the teams in their group...Baptism of fire for a team that was in Cap2 last season playing against Premier League sides.

Did LH originally have 2 x teams in Div 1 (1 in each group) ? 

Preliminary draw (old) had:

• Lower Hutt City B in Division 1 Group 1
• Lower Hutt City A in Division 1 Group 2.

Seatoun have made a late change tand swapped with LH B in Div 1.

I see Lower Hutt A won 4-1 v KCU with goals to Blake Dreihuis(3) & Oscar van Hattum(1).

Is Dreihuis (& the others who played) part of the Nix Academy ?

Yep - Wests mostly played 13/14s -  4 15year olds by my reckoning started? - and got walloped. Same shape that West's deployed for their first teams game against karori with the fullbacks highest on the pitch. Lower Hutt mostly 16s. 

Wests overrun in midfield, but one of those games where Declan is making it hard for his DMs to connect with the centre backs, and is trying to teach them something. Lower Hutt physical, direct. Had some bright spells.

Both sides gave up mindless penalties, West's saved their one.

I heard game was called off 10 mins into second half because ref had melt down

He spotted Declan Edge on Wests bench and went and told him to leave as he thought shouldn't be there. Edge apparently pointed out he was on the team sheet. There was some "robust" discussion and the upshot was the ref called the game off!

Tawa were 3-0 up

Nui will cause some teams issues in Prems, they've picked up some good quality players and certainly acquitted themselves well against LH yesterday. Certainly wasn't a walkover for LH. Good to see Steve Coleman still acting like a prat on the sidelines. Is there anyone in Cap Football with a larger sense of self importance?

Why am I not surprised, Gibson isn't a fan of Declan and is quite happy to show it and throw his weight around even if it appears he was wrong and Declan was on the team sheet.

Also, yes Nui are in Cap Prem this year.

Yea i agree with Chopper! Watched LH v Wainui and i was very surprised. Wainui dominated most of the game but just couldnt score. They have some talent alright and i heard they still arent at full strength. They will be competing for the title for sure!!

They have a couple of imports - not sure if they got them especially or its just a couple of guys that are on holiday

one of them played for Atherton Collieries in Englands Northern Premier div (tier 7)
