Love it how our positive reception to Danny Boys coming off was all he got. Top kid, even though he was even worse then Gary in coming and celebrating in our faces 2 years back. #nofans

Amazing fight and fitness Tech had in extra time especially after their heroics just last Sat both WITH 10 MEN. How we were the ones cramping up.. ??

And yes 5 minutes stoppage time out of nowhere for them to score 96 mins and 30 seconds... big ouch. Proud of the club I support. What a ride. Being the club challenging Tech is a compliment and similiar to Chatham, actually deserving to win.... class!! See you next year for another cracker. Fanbase growing after games like that. Coastal up!!

P.S we were thinking of recruiting our mob to get behind the Dragons this summer... but na how we only have 2 players in that squad means either 1. We are overachieving massively or 2. Willy is blind. He will never get true local support the way treats our local players or local competitions.

Fully appreciate the coming off applause. We’ve come a long way since my head rush celebration I feel. Keep up the support for coastal I love it

It was good to see that 2 way appreciation

Another absolute nail biter last night. Probably not quite up to the game on Saturday but still one of the better local clashes.

Drama from the very start to the final minute. Some very good goals and plenty of good play from both sides.

Surprised to hear the Train supporters were upset by someone from Tech.

My experience is that at most games they give more than their share, on most occasions.

Liked the way they welcomed Danny and did not mind the way they "farewelled" Cory.

Some colourful language, traditionally all part of the game for the boys on the bank.

Not adverse to giving it to the officials, opposition bench and players.

Must, however, remember it can come back at you, especially if your team does not win.

Well done to the Coastal team for a very good effort and to CTFC for a very good win.

Christchurch United thanks Fernando Lambert for invaluable contributions.

The Christchurch United board and staff have expressed their gratitude for Fernando Lambert’s contribution in the development of the club.

After two seasons as First Team coach at Christchurch United, the club and Fernando have agreed to part ways as the coach is seeking new opportunities in New Zealand.

Fernando arrived in New Zealand from Sydney after a successful stint at Manly United.

Christchurch United president Slava Meyn had been impressed by Fernando and his teams while attending the Sydney tournaments and recruited the Brazilian to come across the Tasman.

Academy director Colin Williamson said that Fernando had brought a high level of professionalism to the club and a unique mix of Brazilian and Australian flair to his teams. “We all enjoyed working with Fernando and we all wish him all the best for the future.”

Fernando also thanked the staff, managers, parents and players of the club for their support over the past two seasons.

"During those months, we have grown as a club and achieved so much in a short period of time,” said Fernando in his farewell Facebook post. "It is time now to say goodbye and look for another challenge in New Zealand or overseas. It is hard to leave behind so many friends but I am sure that those friendships will last forever.

"Good luck to all players and coaches for the coming years and I am looking forward of seeing some of you representing New Zealand Football in the future."

In the MPL sounds like FC and clearly Selwyn and in the CCL, ChCh United and Universities with Halswell having already advertised for coach for 2019.

Sure, no problem. Are Mainland doing their normal thing? We would usually see the names of those nominated wouldn't we?

Copied from Nomads facebook page (which was posted this evening):

ANNOUNCEMENT - Nomads United AFC are very excited to welcome International Licenced Brazilian Coach, Fernando Lambert to the Club as their Technical Director from October this year.

Fernando’s position will see him continue to increase the quality of our Talent Centre Program and further develop our community pathway for all members.

Having held positions with acclaimed clubs like Corinthians, Gremio, Sao Paulo (in Brazil), WSW, Sydney FC (in Australia) and SoCal in USA, Nomads United AFC could not be happier to have Fernando as part of their team and are really looking forward to having him share his skills and love of football with our members.

Lambert earned his football qualifications in Brazil, Australia, the United States and has recently done his T1 TOVO Barcelona Certificate. He is also a Cognitive Football Instructor. Prior to coming to Nomads he has been involved with another Club in Christchurch developing football plans and training curriculums as a Head Coach and delivering Academy programs.

“I am looking forward to working in one of the biggest clubs in the South Island, and together with their amazing coaching staff and committee are looking forward to great things”, said Fernando. “The club’s philosophy of ‘quality and affordable football for all’ really matches what I believe about football. In Brazil, the best players cannot afford to pay to train and play and it’s is a huge loss to the sport. In New Zealand we need to be developing talents that will help to increase the level of football in New Zealand”.

“I would like to thank Nomads United AFC for all their support and I am looking forward to preparing for the 2019 season and hope to provide the best coaching possible on and off the field”. – Fernando Lambert

Bit of spare time to update my records - here is the list of the all time top ten leading scorers in the MPL

Player Goals Position
Michael White 114 1st
Gareth Turnbull 94 2nd
Dan Ede 82 3rd
Keith Grosvenor 79 4th
Ben Wright 73 5th
Russell Kamo 72 6th
Stu Kelly 56 7th
Chris Anderson 55 8th
Neil Murphy 51 9th
Greg Feutz 50 10th

No change to the over all top ten list from the beginning of the season but Michael White now increases his lead at the top to ten goals, Dan Ede has move from 5th place to 3rd with Ben Wright also going from 6th to 5th.

Yes and a few in both  the MPL and WPL as well - maybe up to double figures over the three leagues for teams looking for a coach.

As far as I'm aware he's looking to move to Auckland because fdms get paid more up there.

No, still at Western. Believe a change at Broonie's work likely to mean he will be spending more time away from ChCh so club just seeing who is available.

Can they build the changing rooms first? The fact that regularly the home team will use a cabin to change but they don’t allow the away team to do so!
