seems i have missed a bit being in the sunny islands! Waimak potentially playing spoiler a few weeks ago but western not taking the advantage and dropping points again. massive game next week which could potentially have a huge say on promotion. Western will be lacking confidence so at home ill take the halswell. congrats to waimak on the recent surge

Still six rounds to go for most, so teams play each other again.

ChCh United play Parklands on Tuesday night in a catch up game from round 10, with two round 11 fixtures to play - Burwood vs. Western and Halswell vs. Parklands on 18 August.

I only saw the second half. Not a lot of good football played but what more can you expect on what is arguably the worst pitch in Christchurch. Halswell were a bit unlucky late on but Waimak defended manfully. Halswell have some talented young players but in my opinion most of them don't commit for the full 90 minutes. Waimak have taken quite a few points off them this season.

No contest in my opinion. Agree the other 2 grounds not flash but at least they get mowed occasionally.

All dissent sending offs seem to have been given 4 match bans at least in the CCL this year

Hardly think he would get 4 weeks when sending off was for 2 yellow. 2nd appeared to be dissent and happened wíthin a minute of full-time. Waimaķ reject I think.

Bit unfair to associate this repetitive offender with Waimak when he has played for several other clubs around town including Nomads and Parklands.

Not the first player to get 4 games for dissent towards a ref this season with 2 yellows. It’s happened in a couple of games we’ve been involved with

Not hard to work out lads - I assume this guy got red card R13.

NZF Disciplinary code:

R13 (25.1.6 and 27.1.1) Offensive, insulting, abusive language and/or gestures against a Match Official

27.1.1 at least four Playing Days for unsporting conduct (including but not limited to using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures) towards a Match Official (offence code R13);

It really is a joke though, I can punch another player and only get R11 (25.1.2) Violent Conduct which is a minimum of 2 playing days.

These pussy referees need to grow a back bone, and learn that comments are made in the heat on the moment.

We had one in my clubs CCL game a few weeks ago - player got 4 weeks. If the linesperson who reported the comment (which I overheard) had any football nouse - he could have had a wee word to the player. The report was he swore at referee(s) - he did not (as I heard his words - but you can't appeal this). Unfortunately this linesperson has never played any serious football. The best referees have played at a reasonable level.

Don't quite understand how he only got a second yellow if he did commit that offence. Knowing the player involved though it would be no surprise if that was the offence. In this case the referee was within 3 metres of the player and his decision was almost instantaneous. The ref on the night was pretty good.

I heard he reacted as he felt he’d been elbowed. As you say though it’s not the first time, he should have been binned for dissent against us a couple of weeks back

think utd will be more than happy with the outcome. talk i am getting from those close is that he tried to get rid of the coach at utd. could well be the case here and someone with a more soft underbelly than slava has listened to the crap. i have heard nothing whatsoever positive about the guy, disease was a common word i got

I do love it when people get on here and have a real go at someone, especially when it is someone who has made a real impact on our local game. Stu is undoubtedly one of the most influential players to impact our game over the last 15 plus years. As a player he set a standard of commitment, performance and fitness unequalled locally, this took him to the top level of NZ football, recognized across the country. He is now obviously looking to impact as a coach and all the best to him. If he can find 4 or 5 players with his on field work ethic he will succeed. If he has the patience with those without the commitment will tell. so be it. That is life as a coach.

if he wants to be a coach then fine, but there is a certain way to go about it not the way he has gone about it. will definately need to have more patience thats for sure.
